At LACE we are very passionate about sustainable fashion. We are always searching to find better alternatives to encourage responsible ethics of care and reducing the harm to the environment that is created as a result of fashion production. We strive to create the most beautiful and desirable products with the least impact on our planet.

Together we ensure that the LACE brand is ethical and all aspects of the business is treated with respect and compassion, with a focus on our materials impact being less harmful to the environment.

We are always working to make sure from fibre to final our garments have travelled the minimum of miles, ensuring we minimise our carbon footprint as a brand. We work to get to the bottom of origins of every scrap of material in every garment. Filter by this to ensure your garment has been produced from field to final within 1 country.

ORGANIC COTTON

Cotton is one of the most-used fibres in the fashion industry and starts its life in the soil. Highly toxic substances like fertilisers, pesticides and herbicides are applied to the 99% of all cotton that is currently grown conventionally¹. It uses 2.5% of the world’s arable land, but accounts for 16% of all the pesticides used.

Years of intensive farming and reliance on toxic chemicals have caused a decline in soil health and biodiversity. If there are not good water management systems in place, the chemical inputs can runoff and pollute local waterways as well as endanger farmers’ health if breathed in.

Growing organic cotton eliminates toxic chemicals which is better for the health of people and the health of soils. Healthy soils are better able to store water and carbon, which also helps to combat climate change. Organic cotton was developed by social entrepreneurs, farmers and NGOs who wanted to challenge the cotton industry’s overuse of chemicals and the societal problems it causes.

LENZING™ ECOVERO™ FIBERS

LENZING™ ECOVERO™ fibers are obtained from certified, renewable wood sources in an ecologically responsible production process in compliance with high environmental standards. Thus, LENZING™ ECOVERO™ fibers contribute to a sustainable lifestyle and a clean environment.
